Prof. Sharon Gannot to co-chair Interspeech 2024
Interspeech is the world’s leading conference in the field of speech processing science and technology. This year’s conference will be held in Early September in Kos, Greece.
Prof. Sharon Gannot of the Faculty of Engineering and Prof. Itshak Lapidot of Afeka College are the general co-chairs of Interspeech 2024, the world’s leading conference on speech processing science and technology, to be held in Kos, Greece. 1-5 September 2024. “We originally planned to have the conference in Jerusalem, but had to relocate to Greece on account of the war,” says Prof. Gannot.
This is the 25th edition of Interspeech, first held in 2000 in Beijing, China. Traditionally, the conference has been devoted to advancing automatic speech recognition capabilities in a wide array of applications: spontaneous speech, large vocabulary, different conditions, robustness in adverse acoustic environments, multiple languages, speaker verification, and language identification. “This year’s conference maintains its commitment to these topics; yet as technology evolves, we turn to face the challenges of the future and explore new application domains. These new topics constitute our theme for Interspeech 2024: Speech and Beyond,” says Prof. Gannot. “Among the intriguing topics explored in this year’s conference are Speech Analysis for Health and Medicine, BioAcoustics Signal Analysis, Brain-Computer Interface, Speech Research for the Benefit of the Community, Medical Diagnosis, Multimedia, Communication Across Ages, and Emotion, Age, and Gender Recognition.”
The intespeech24 program includes keynote speeches from renowned researchers, tutorials, special sessions, satellite workshops, show & tell demonstrations, and more. We have more than 1200 peer-reviewed papers in the program, and we expect more than 2,000 participants from all over the world. For more information,
