At just 19, Rom is already on his fourth year at the Faculty of Engineering, a student at Prof. Orit Shefi’s lab. The scholarship recognizes his excellence at the relevant fields of study
Congratulations, Rom Yaakovian, for winning the Ministry of Energy’s scholarship promoting academic interest in the fields of energy, earth, and ocean studies. Rom is a fourth-year student at the dual electrical engineering and physics track. He is conducting his graduate project at Prof. Orit Shefi’s lab, where he is researching soundwave-controlled drug release. The scholarship was awarded in recognition of his excellence in the relevant fields and requires him to dedicate the majority of his time to completing his degree and volunteering within the community.
At just 19, Rom began his academic career while still in high school. “I joined Bar-Ilan’s high-school program which allowed me to take my AP math matriculation exam in 10th grade,” he shares. He began his university studies in 10th grade, and now – merely one year after graduating – he is about to complete his BSc. “I urge anyone who can to join the program. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime golden opportunity,” he says.
