No fewer than 202 undergraduate and 50 graduate students received their diplomas in a graduation ceremony held earlier this month. "You persevered, came back to school, completed your projects, passed your exams successfully, and made it to this incredible moment. Such pride!" said Prof. Orit Shefi in her speech

Undergraduate representative Daniel Himelstein also noted the challenging period. "At no point, no matter the crisis, neither we the students nor you, the faculty, gave up," he said. "Inspired by the engineering mindset we acquired here, a mindset that instead of running away from complex problems, tackles them head-on in search of solutions, we all found a way to study remotely and adapt."

Graduate representative Yuval Tamir said: "Choosing to pursue graduate and postgraduate degrees, particularly in the field of engineering, is a daring choice. Alongside the hardships, there were also moments of enlightenment and true excitement—a solution to a complex problem, the spark of a new idea, or a fruitful discussion with a peer or mentor. These are the moments that shaped us and will continue to do so as we evolve."

During these challenging years, from COVID to the still-raging war, the number of students each year has doubled. The Faculty of Engineering expanded from only two specialty programs—electrical engineering and computer engineering—to six. Among the recipients were the first graduating class of the neuroengineering program, headed by Dr. Shahar Alon. I wish you all to continue walking an inspiring path. To lead, to inspire, and always remember that engineering is not only technology—it is a mindset and a mission, and our Faculty of Engineering, the home in which you grew and created, will always welcome you. A magnet for ideas, connections, and continuous creation," concluded Prof. Shefi, and we, of course, agree.
