The event, designed to get together and allow new students to meet and mingle, was orchestrated by the Faculty’s Student Council and held on the last week of the semester. It was a night to remember!

On March 13th, the Faculty of Engineering’s Student Council and the Student Union held an evening get-together with food, beer, tabletop games, karaoke and more. “Each year during the first semester, the Faculty Council holds a fun event targeting mostly first-year students,” says Or Shohat, Co-Chairman of the Faculty’s Student Council. “The goal is to shed some of the pressure of starting school, and help students make new friends who will soon become study groups.”

Unlike previous years, this year’s event was held not at the start of the semester, but on the last week before the exams. “Because of the war we felt it was wrong to hold such an event at that particular time, so we postponed it to the final week of the semester, to allow students one night of fun before exams take over,” explains Shohat. “We’re glad we could take some time off from intensive studying. We got very positive feedback from students, and were happy to see everyone enjoying themselves and letting loose.”

Shohat says that the student Council can’t wait to start the second semester and execute everything they have in store. “The Faculty of Engineering’s Student Council wishes all of our students a successful study period, and the safe return of all our students on reserve duty.”
