Multi-Band CMOS VCO

Abstract: The design of multi-band cross-coupled CMOS VCO is presented. The resonant circuit was implemented with a combination of continuously and digitally tuned elements to cover the entire frequency range between 3.1GHz and 5.4Ghz. The CMOS cross-coupled VCO demonstrated very low phase noise perfomance, output power levels ranging from -100dBm and VCO gain between 70MHz/V@3.1GHz and 210MHz/V@5.4GHz
