From Knowledge Extraction to Service Creation and Research Prediction
Abstract: The world today is characterized by too much knowledge. With so much knowledge readily accessible, the question is: what can we do with it. I will describe methods to extract and organize the knowledge so that it can be deployed effectively as services. Implementations of methods of large scale knowledge manipulation will be presented in fields such as knowledge maps for learning, and multilingual patent extraction. I will also show how knowledge extraction can be used for trend analysis and predictions from patents and from academic publications based on social network methods.
