Abstract

Human Resources Analytics (HRA) is the application of business analytics and data science techniques to the field of Human Resources Management. In this talk, we will follow the basic Human Resources Management process: Recruitment – Selection – Turnover – Retention; yet from the inductive HRA perspective. We will demonstrate and discuss, through real-world examples, what can HRA tell us when analyzing strategic human capital processes.

In this ongoing research, we examine individual and organizational features and show how HRA may be used on large scale datasets to address key managerial and organizational challenges. Specifically, how does HRA support both known and established theoriesso far based on deductive data-driven hypothesis testing—as well as for extracting hidden behavioral patterns from the data, including some surprising and counter intuitive patterns. Part of the analysis explores digital expressions extracted from digital footprints. We will discuss potential implications for theory and practice.
