Fault injection attacks involve actively manipulating logic information in a chip by inducing a transient fault during the execution of a secured transaction. The purpose of the attacker is to circumvent the information is some controllable manner which allows identification of the secret hidden by the asset.
The goal of this project is to provide an emulation environment which will allow evaluation of the laser upset effects and which attack scenario is relevant for very equipped attacker. Another layer of analysis will include experiments by an advanced laser scanning apparatus which will allow accurate X, Y and temporal positioning.
the project include building the setup for inducing faults by laser on secured hardwar and measurements of the effect of laser beam on the cryptosystem.
