תיאור הפרויקט ותכולתו:
Telomeres are specific sequences that mark the end of chromosomes. The number of visible telomeres and the lengths may provide diagnostic information. However, as there may be 92-184 telomeres in each cell, and hundreds to thousands of cells are counted, an automated system is required.
We have recently developed a novel algorithm for detection of telomeres in 3D image stacks.
The goal of this project is to:
1. convert the algorithm to the ImageJ environment.
2. extend the algorithm as needed (particularly by implementing GPU based deconvolution).
